Laurea University of Applied Sciences, specifically Leppävaara unit located in the Helsinki metropolitan area, hosts the International Conference Learning by Developing - New ways to learn since 2008. The conference discusses learning and teaching in higher education, focussing on a different perspective every year.

 

In this fourth edition, the theme was based on creativity. It was a success given that more than 190 participants from worldwide attended. Between them researchers, developers, leaders, lecturers, students and other representatives of public and private higher education institutions.

 

The program was divided into two phases: the pre-conference, that consisted on conducting several workshops the 8th and 9th of May and, the main conference, the 10th and 11th of May. In order to conclude the third journey of the agenda was held the traditional Get-together networking event, where attendees had the opportunity to interact with each other in a directly way.

 

The event lasted approximately two hours. The decorative elements, natural white carnations in glass vases and pistachio tablecloths matchings with stems and leaves, were intended to create a relaxed atmosphere due to the large number of participants. As for the entertainment, it was opted for a selection of multicultural games and a live musical performance. All this was accompanied by a succulent savory Nordic catering.
